Leave it to the Professionals
Simply stated, "electrical wiring is a job best left to professionals," per [Alan Heavens, Philadelphia Inquirer Real Estate Columnist]. We can't agree more. Not sure which wiring needs to go, and which is OK? Per Al, "That's the job of an electrician. If you have an older house, it will have several generations of wiring. Some of it may be in great shape; some may be in need of replacement or at least a careful look by a professional. And I mean a licensed professional, because a lot of electrical wiring in houses is done by amateurs - the previous owners or their friends. Although those people may have known something about what they were doing, home inspectors say they can tell right away when wiring was installed by unqualified individuals."
